Getting from Marlboro to New York City Without Driving

Marlboro is about 40 miles from Manhattan, close enough for a day trip and far enough that driving and parking in the city is a real chore. These are the main options our neighbors use.

NJ Transit buses from park & ride lots

Commuter buses run from park & ride lots in and around Marlboro, including the Union Hill park & ride, to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Permit spaces can be limited, so check with NJ Transit and the township before you count on a spot.

The train from Matawan-Aberdeen

The Matawan-Aberdeen station on NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line is a short drive from Marlboro and has trains to New York Penn Station. We run many station drop-offs and late-night pickups for train riders who would rather not leave a car in the lot.

Ferries from the Bayshore

Ferries from Monmouth County’s Bayshore towns cross to Manhattan in about 40 minutes to an hour. A car to and from the ferry terminal makes this a relaxed option.

Door-to-door car service

For Broadway shows, dinners, games, hospital appointments or a group outing, a car is often simplest: we pick you up at home, drop you at the door in the city and bring you back at a time you choose — no transfers, no parking garages.
